Professor Stephen Palmer PhD CPsychol FISMA (Hon) FIHPE (Hon) FAC (Hon) FRSA


The Co-Director of the Stephen Palmer Partnership is Professor Stephen Palmer, a Business and Coaching Psychologist and a Chartered Health & Safety Practitioner. He is the first Visiting Professor of Work Based Learning and Stress Management at the Institute for Work Based Learning, Middlesex University and Adjunct Professor of Coaching Psychology at Aalborg University, Denmark. He is an International Society for Coaching Psychology Accredited Coaching Psychologist, an Association for Professional Executive Coaching & Supervisors (APECS) accredited Executive Coach and APECS accredited Executive Coach Supervisor. He has 40 years of experience in business and management.. 

Currently, he is an Honorary President of the International Stress Management Association (UK), Honorary President of the International Society for Coaching Psychology. and Honorary Vice President of the Institute of Health Promotion and Education. He was the first Chair of the British Psychological Society Special Group in Coaching Psychology. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Association for Coaching and Former President. He has lectured in Europe, Japan, New Zealand, Hong Kong and China on a range of subjects and regularly appears on radio and television programmes. He is Co-Editor of the International Coaching Psychology Review, Consulting Editor of Coaching: An International Journal of Theory, Research & Practice, and Consulting Editor of the International Journal of Health Promotion & Education. He is Co-editor with Gladeana McMahon with Averil Leimon of the Essential Coaching Skills and Knowledge book series published by Routledge, and Editor of the Stress Counselling book series for Sage. He has launched a new book series, Coaching Psychology with Routledge. He has authored/edited over 50 books. His books include the Handbook of Coaching Psychology (with Whybrow).

Kate Thomas BA MRSH

Kate Thomas is a Director of the Stephen Palmer Partnership. She is our External Contracts Director at the Stephen Palmer Partnership Ltd. She co-authored with Prof Stephen Palmer and Prof Sir Cary Cooper, Creating a Balance: Managing Stress published by The British Library. She has published papers on stress theory and stress management.

Nick Edgerton MSc CPsychol

Nick Edgerton is Co-Director of the Coaching programmes and is a chartered psychologist. He developed the cognitive behavioural SPACE model of coaching, counselling and stress management which he teaches at the Centre for Coaching.

Dr Vicky Ellam-Dyson BSc PhD MISCP


Dr Vicky Ellam-Dyson is a coaching psychologist and academic involved with a range of activities including coaching, training and research supervision. As a coach and trainer she works with leaders and teams in developing improved performance and wellbeing and teaches coaching skills to leaders and new coaches.Herwork is also informed by her research into the psychology of leadership, where  she explored how embedded core beliefs can influence patterns of leadership style. The research found perfectionism and narcissism to be related to commonleader derailment behaviours.

Michael Neenan Dip REBT AdDipREBT DipCACP

Michael Neenan is Co-Director of the Centre for Coaching programme. He is a former Honorary Vice President of the Association for Coaching. He is also an experienced industrial trainer. He has published articles and books on REBT including the Dictionary of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (1994) with Dryden, Counselling Individuals: A Rational Emotive Handbook (1999) with Dryden and Yankura, and Life Coaching: A Cognitive Behavioural Approach (2002; 2012) with Dryden.

Dr Siobhain O'Riordan PhD CPsychol FISCP Accred

Dr Siobhain O'Riordan is the Associate Director at the Centre for Coaching. She
is a Course Co-Director on the coaching and coaching psychology programmes and a trainer at the Centre. She is a Chartered Psychologist, International Society for Coaching Psychology Accredited Coaching Psychologist and Supervisor, and a CABA Chartered Certified Coach. She is Founder Chair of the International Society for Coaching Psychology, Editor of The Coaching Psychologist and Coaching Psychology International. Her other posts include being a Director of the International Academy for Professional Development Ltd. She supervises PhD/DPsych research students at City University London.

Kasia Szymanska MSc CPsychol AFBPsS MISCP Accred

Kasia Szymanska is the Director of Distance Learning programmes and a trainer at the Centre for Stress Management. She is a Chartered Psychologist, International Society for Coaching Psychology Accredited Coaching Psychologist, and a CABA Chartered Certified Coach. She is Membership Secretary of the International Society for Coaching Psychology, and a former Editor of The Coaching Psychologist published by the British Psychological Society Special Group in Coaching Psychology. She is a Director of the International Academy for Professional Development Ltd.
